ABBA - THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC (BOX SET COM 4 CD'S) (1994)

 

THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC foi lançado originalmente no ano de 1994, 2 anos depois da coletânea ABBA GOLD que foi o maior sucesso em vendas onde trouxe vários clássicos do grupo ABBA, e 1 ano depois do MORE ABBA GOLD que trouxe outros sucessos que ficaram de fora da anterior, trazendo a música inédita I AM THE CITY. Com essa ideia, BENNY e BJÖRN além de CHRIS GRIFFIN (que assume a produção), se juntaram pra lançar esse box que traz 4 cd's onde reúne pela primeira vez todos os sucessos do grupo, além dos chamados B-SIDES, com músicas que estiveram apenas em singles (não todos), e raridades que apareceram pela primeira vez nesse box. 

O que ganha mais destaque desse box não é só pelo conteúdo que tem, com fotos inéditas, e sim pelo CD 4 onde traz as raridades, como falei, como por exemplo a música PUT ON YOUR WHITE SOMBRERO que foi gravado durante as sessões do disco SUPER TROUPER de 1980, DREAM WORLD que foi gravado nas sessões do disco VOULEZ VOUS de 78, e o medley ABBA UNDELETED, onde traz trechos de inúmeras músicas que ficaram de fora dos discos do grupo, bem como algumas que ficaram completas, ou inacabadas, como JUST LIKE THAT que foi totalmente editada tendo apenas o refrão, e JUST A NOTION que teve apenas a segunda estrofe em destaque, apesar que essa música foi a única que deu a luz muitos anos depois para o disco VOYAGE de 2021 com a sua letra original e completa. Mas no final das contas, THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC vale muito a pena porque traz boa parte da história do grupo.
